Welcome to the South-West

The south-west of France has it all: the sun, the sea, the countryside…

and the château de Bonbonnet (which we are proud to call home). Juniper trees grow wild across from the château.

Juniper trees grow wild across from the château. Their berries gave spirits maker Alexandre Gabriel an idea: to create the first modern French gin. It was a crazy idea back in 1996, the year Citadelle Gin was born.

We harvest juniper berries for our gin at the Château de Bonbonnet and look forward to soon growing all our juniper trees ourselves.

We built our own distillery at the château, and we gather here to work and play in this very special place

Whether in a gin & tonic at the seaside, with a dozen oysters straight from the reef or just to discover gin à la française, Citadelle is best enjoyed with family, friends and of course a twist of lemon peel. All in moderation of course!
