For more than a quarter of a century, the Citadelle team has been meticulously crafting this world-class Gin, honoured at the most prestigious spirit competitions worldwide, such as the best French gin. At Citadelle our goal is to control every aspect of our production process, from our juniper fields in front of the Château to our luscious Orangerie bursting with citrus. During your visit, you will learn everything about the production of France’s original craft gin and its patented process.

The Citadelle Gin Distillery is located at the Château de Bonbonnet in the village of Ars in Charente.
We are accessible by car and taxi. Simply enter “Maison Ferrand” in Google Maps. The address is: Chateau de Bonbonnet, 16130 Ars.
We are accessible by car and taxi. There is a large car park across from the Château and we also have disabled access.
Open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10:00 to 18:00. Closed on Sundays and Mondays. Subject to change depending on the season. Please check our website for more information.

Reservations are highly recommended. Walk-ins are accepted depending on availability, but we advise calling ahead.
Tours are available Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:00 to 18:00.
We accept all major cards and cash. Bank cheques are not accepted. Pay online using our booking portal, or in person upon arrival.

Your tickets will be sent via email to the address you provided during your booking, or you can download them at the end of the booking process.
Tickets do not need to be printed, just show proof of purchase upon arrival.
Distillery tours last approximately 1h30. We recommend that you arrive minimum 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time.
Last entry is at 16:00.
This experience takes place in indoor and outdoor settings. Access to the facility is subject to change or limitation in the event of inclement weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.
Yes, for most of the tour photography is welcomed. However, photography is not allowed in certain areas for safety reasons. Your tour guide will notify you of these sections prior to entering.
Our Tours and Experiences are offered in French, English and Spanish.
We are happy to provide a spittoon for visitors who wish to tour the Distillery and taste (but not consume) our spirits. Spitting minimizes alcohol intake, reducing the risk of intoxication that impacts your ability to drive safely. We reserve the right to refuse service to any customer who appears to be under the influence of alcohol, whether they are planning to drive or not. Breathalysers are available upon request.
There is a car park across from the Château and there is dedicated parking for people with reduced mobility at the rear of the chateau, please alert us of your arrival time if you need this and a member of our team can guide you.
Yes. Our shop offers Citadelle Gin products as well as other Maison Ferrand spirits (including some exclusive releases only available at the Distillery!) and Citadelle Gin Distillery merchandise.
Outside food and drinks are strictly prohibited inside the premises of the Citadelle Visitor Centre. Nibbles and local products are available at the shop.
Yes, our distillery and shop are accessible to guests with reduced mobility.

All ages are welcome on the tours and can access the Château grounds. However, you must be at least 18 years old to partake in any tastings or purchase any cocktails, beverages, products, or merchandise containing alcohol.
For security reasons pets are not allowed.

Cancellations at least 48 hours before the start date of the tour result in a full refund of the Tour price.
A 50% refund of the tour price is given for cancellations made less than 48 hours but more than 24 hours before the scheduled Tour time.
No refund is given for cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled tour time.

Smoking is prohibited within the Distillery and the shop. A designated outdoors smoking area is provided.
In the event of a late arrival to the visit that you have already paid for, we offer the possibility to reschedule the visit, subject to availability. The Visitor Center team reserves the right to refuse the rescheduling if the desired visiting slots are full.
